Creating S.M.A.R.T. Goals
S.M.A.R.T. Goals are goals that are Specific - Measurable - Attainable - Realistic and Timebound.
It is important to understand this concept because so often people confuse "thoughts and wishes" with "dreams and goals". Thoughts and wishes are not things that will ever really happen, they are just things people think about and wish for, whereas goals can be achieved and dreams really do come true. One of the key differences in creating true goals is meeting the S.M.A.R.T. model. It can mean the difference between getting what you want in life and NOT!
The Slight Edge Philosophy is a key component to achievement because it is based on the premise that "Success is easy! Definition of easy: "... something you can do". If you CAN DO it, we call that easy. So the question becomes, if success is so easy then why isn't everyone successful? This is explained - it's simple and eye-opening!
The second principle behind the Slight Edge is that "Successful people do the slightest of things that seem to make no difference at all while they are doing them. But they just keep doing them over and over again until the compounded affect launches them toward their goal. What are these all important "little things" and how can knowing this help me in my business?
The third and last principle behind the Slight Edge Philosophy is that "Successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do." After discovering this, one can analyze whether or not they are willing to do them in order to achieve success.

Creating a Networking Strategy
How NOT to be "That Guy"
We've all been there before. We're SERIOUS about building our businesses, so we do what we know...NETWORKING! So we show up to see our friends, we grab a couple free drink tickets and we start passing those business cards around the room. Admit you...you probably have a stack of those cards on your desk right now, don't you? But how many of those business cards have led to revenue? What percentage of those contacts have truly spent money with you? If you're like 99% of the people out there, the percentages are VERY low!
The problem is most of us don't have a real effective strategy for networking. That ends on 7/21! Jay Handler has been teaching sales and business professionals the secrets to effective networking for years, and he's leading our PNC webinar this month to share those secrets with us!

Count on Accountability to Improve Your Bottom Line
The lack of accountability for results is epidemic in American industry. Without quantifiable, measureable goals and a performance appraisal process which evaluates performance principally upon achieving one’s goals, the responsibility for the bottom line rests solely upon the owner or President. This is the principal reason why most businesses struggle.
